Cupcake Liner Dress and Vintage Dress Using Framelit Dress Die

I'm so excited to share with you two ideas I found on two Demonstrators Blogs. The Cupcake Liner Dresses Cards is from Patty Bennett  www.pattystamps.com  Dated 12-15-13.

Yesterday morning I visited Patty Bennett's blog like I do everyday and found the cutest Cup Cake Liner Cards ever. I wanted to make some right away. But...the only cupcake liners I had were white and foil. The weather was so bad and the roads very slippery so I didn't go out. I worked with what I had. I really like the way my Framelit Dress came out.

Isn't this the cutest Christmas party dress? I added Basic Rhinestones at the waistline of the dress.

Instead of putting the dress on a card I used an idea from Kimberly VanDiepen of using a wooden skewer and wood spool.

I have some old wooden spools from my grandmother that I have been hoping I could make something with and now I have. I left the original label on the spool. I think it gives it character.

I used the same die with the wooden spool and wooden skewer on my Vintage dress.

 

 I ran the Dress Up forms through the Big Shot with Crumb Cake card stock. One for the front and one for the back.

I stamped on the dress form first with the a stamp from the Artistic Etching Stamp Set. I adhered the white tulle with a brad to hold the tulle in place while I used my Heat Tool to melt the tulle in layers. I started at the bottom of the dress form and added layers and used my Heat Tool to melt the Tulle. Tip: I used a cloths pin to hold my dress form while heating the tulle.

I put a piece of tulle in the spool and then inserted the wooden skewer.

 Once the dress was completed I added Basic Rhinestones on the dress and applied a piece of Cherry Cobbler Tulle and a rose made with Simply Pressed Clay. You can see the back piece of the dress form. I put hot glue on the back of the skewer and attached it to the other dress form.

I am going to make one of these for each or our six granddaughters. I going to make myself some to set on my stamping desk. Wouldn't these look cute on a dresser?
