Joy

I really like this card. Yes, the word "joy" is associated with Christmas. Joy, happy, cheerful, excited, pleased, content. These are just a few of words I have felt this week.  Earlier this week I was given the best Christmas present I could ever have! My Radation Oncologist examined me and told me I'm Cancer free! The tumor is gone! The Chemo treatment and 30 Radation treatments killed the tumor.

Christmas this year has a completely different meaning for my family, friends, and me. We celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ who was born to save mankind. Without The Lord I don't believe I wouldn't have been healed. Christ gave us the ultimate gift when he died on the cross for our sins. I'm so thankful I was raised in a Christian home.

During treatment I was asked if I was afraid. I can say I wasn't. The Lord gave me peace. I felt whatever happened I knew it was The Lord's will. I didn't have to carry the burden...this made all the difference in the world. My job was to go through my treatments, eat healthy, and get plenty of rest.
The time passed quickly. As I counted off the days, there were days when Chemo and Radation  were hard to live with. I had pain, The Chemo made me sick, I lost some of my hair; my body was burned from the Radation, inside and out. Yes, I cried. And when I started to feel overwhelmed, praying was comforting. I would feel calm and peaceful.

So this Christmas, I am joyful I'm Cancer free, more importantly Joy fills my heart because my Heavenly Father was born and died not only for me but for the world. My wish for you this season is to have a wonderful, "Joyful" Christmas!

Until next time...

Eight Days To Christmas

"Our family is celebrating Christmas on the 21st this year. Our children, grandchildren, Grammy and Bompa will meet at our youngest daughter, Mary, and family's house. Instead of a traditional meal we are going to have pizza. The grandchildren out voted the rest of us.

I have been making Christmas gifts again this year. Christmas cards are finished and in the mail.
I am ahead of the game. I have to finish wrapping a few gifts and then I can relax.

I have a Christmas project to show you. Each year I make some good old stand bys and try to create some new projects. This year I have done both.

I saw this idea on Pinterest and thought our teenage granddaughters would like this idea. I cut index cards 2 inches wide and used a Stampin' Up! Tag punch. I cut out Desginer Series Paper for the front cover and the same size of cardboard for the back cover. To hold the tablet together I used a ring and added some ribbon to add interest and balance to the project. Fun, easy, and fast project.

I love this card. It's bright and cheerful. Simple to make. If you needed to mass produce Christmas cards this would be a good choice.

Another fast and simple card. Red is my favorite color and I used it a lot this year. For this card I chose  Whisper White, and Real Red card stock, Designer Series paper, and Mingle All The Way stamp set. I will be back this week with more Christmas projects.

Until next time...

Chocolate Nugget Tin

Each year we give our neighbors a little homemade gift. Some times it's cookies or candy or like this year I decorated Chocolate Nugget candies covered with Designer Series Paper in a metal tin. Ribbon and a pretty tag completed the gift.

Stampin' Up! Makes it so easy to stamp, scrapbook or make 3- D projects with beautiful papers, ink  and  ribbons. I'm winding down on making my Christmas gifts. Cards are made, stamped, and in the mail. My husband, Norris, and I delivered gifts on Friday to my doctors and staff.

I will have more photos of Christmas cards next week. Tommrow I will post a quick and easy craft to make yet this season to use as a stocking stuffer.

Until next time...

More Christmas Cards

Good Afternoon. The sun is out here in Kalamazoo, Michigan! Yea! In the winter we have very few sunny days. That's one reason I love to stamp; I can focus on my stamping and forget about the weather.
I really like this card. The stamp is from the stamp set "Mingle All the Way". I used Whisper White and Real Red card stock. Real Red ink and ribbon. I colored the Rhinstones with green  Blender Marker.

Aren't these cards cute? This year I am using a lot of Glimmer Paper on my cards. It seems each time I design a card I reach for Dazzling Diamonds Embossing Powder and or Glimmer Paper. It doesn't have to be a large section just a touch to make my cards stand out.

I will be back this week end with more Christmas cards and a 3-D project.

Until next time...

Christmas Cards

I've been busy this week trying to finish my Christmas cards. Today I have three cards that I had so much fun making. Some people make only one kind of card but I have so many stàmp sets I love, I like to make several different kinds using a variety of stamp sets and card stock.

Another favorite card. I used my Big Shot to cut out the stars which makes card making so much faster and easier.

Another card made easy by using the Big Shot. I think the Red Glimmer paper adds so much to the overall look to the card.

I absolutely love this Santa! Isn't he cute? This season I am really into using Real Red, Crumb Cake and Cherry Cobbler card stock and ink.

I will be posting more Christmas cards this week.
Until next time,
Jane

Christmas Gifts

In June of this year I was told I had Cancer. I had surgery in late July and started Chemo and Radiation on August 25th. Along the way I met some of the nicest people who worked or volunteered at the West Michigan Cancer Center. Everyone from the volunteers to my Oncologists have treated me with respect, dignity, and compassion.

I had treatments 5 days a week until October 10th. I go once a month for check ups and blood work.
I'm feeling stronger and am able to return to my regular routine. I rest when needed.

I made the staff and volunteers these little thank you gifts. I gave my doctors Christmas curly wreaths.

Above are post-it-note coasters with matching pencils.

Above are coaster calendars covered with Designer Series Paper.

These are mini coffee cups covered with Designer Series Paper and filled with chocolate candy.

I have been working on my Christmas cards last week and this week. I will be posting some of them later this week.

My monitor isn't working right now so I'm slowing learning to post from my iPad. I'm limited to what I can do on my iPad. Hopefully I will be able to use my desktop.
Thank you for being patient with me.

Until next time...

Isn't this little octopus cute?

I absolutely love the Designer Series Paper! Just in time for any July 4th cards, or paper projects! I used Real Red, Night of Navy, Whisper White card stock and Red Glimmer paper.

Hersey Kiss Sprial Flowers

Good Morning! Today I have a project and tutorial I think you will really like. It can be used for several different occasions. I saw this idea on Connie Steward's Blog and love them so much I had to make some myself.

Hersey Kiss Spiral Flowers

I used the Spiral Flower Die from Stampin' Up! Cut the card stock  4 1/4" x 4 1/4" and ran it through the Big Shot.
1) I used my bone folder and broke down the fibers in the flower.
2) I used a blender pen to start the rolling of the die to create the flower.
3) I made sure I left enough room in the center to put a Hersey Kiss.

4) I used a cool heat gun to put my flowers together.

5) To give the flower stability, I punched out a Blossom to attached the Spiral flower and leaves.  I used the small Oval Punch and cut the card stock to resemble a leaf. I attached the flower and leaves using my heat gun.

6) Picture of flowers with out a tag.

7) Finial project with tags. I'm planning on making some of these for our Easter dinner to have at each place setting.

Until next time...Happy Stampin'

Magnet Boards

Today I have a 3 D project I just love and I hope you will like it enough to make one yourself. These magnet boards are so cute and functional as well.

Sweet Sorbet Magnet Board

The designer series paper I used, Sweet Sorbet, is from the Sale-A-Brations Catalog. It's my favorite this year. The colors and the flowers are so pretty together. The Stamp set is called Just Sayin' from the Occasions Catalog. I purchased the stamp set and the Framelits as a bundle and it makes using the set so much faster than cutting all the shapes out by hand.

Kaleidoscope Magnet Board
Isn't this paper cute. I love it. I used the Peachy Keen stamp set for three of the magnets. Made a rose using the new Spiral Flower die and the Big Shot. The fifth stamp image is from the stamp set Perfect Pennants, all from the Occasions Catalog.

Both boards are made the same. I used a now retired magnetic sheet from Stampin' Up! and adhered it to a piece of 6" x 8" chipboard. After cutting the designer series paper I adhered the paper to both sides using Sticky Strip. I chose our Ruffled Stretch Ribbon to use as a hanger. I use a Crop-a-dial to punch the holes at the top so the ribbon can be attached.

If you want to use flashing, go to a store that sells roof flashing. I checked at Lowe's and all they had were 5" x 7" pieces which would work as well. Caution: When working with flashing the corners are very sharp and you can cut yourself. I recommend using a tool called "Chompers" that will cut through metal and round the corners. I used the 3/4" round magnets for the back of the images. I attached them using Stampin' Dimensionals. I think all of the craft carry magnets.
These boards are handy for posting notes and photos to enhance your working space or other places in your home.

Happy Watercolor Meets Coastal Cabana

Good Morning from a very snowy Kalamazoo, Michigan. We measured another 6 inches of snow overnight and it is still coming down. Schools are closed due to the slippery roads. Man..Where is Spring?

Well, we can have some Spring with the cards I made using the Happy Watercolor stamp set and the beautiful color Coastal Cabana. I saw some cards using this color in our Stampin' Success Magazine and I had to give it a try. On Monday I featured the Happy Watercolor set with Lovely Lilac which is retired now. I have fallen in love with the Happy Watercolor stamp set and Coastal Cabana card stock. See what you think about these cards....

I chose a Tea Lace Paper Doily and covered it in Gold Embossing Ink and then Gold Embossing Powder and heated the doily with my heat gun. I really like how it turned out.
The Coastal Cabana and gold go perfect together.

To enhance the card I used Coastal Cabana Ruffled Ribbon and Gold Baker's Twine.

On this card I added some of Stampin' Up!  1 1/4"Burlap Ribbon just below the Coastal Cabana Ruffled Ribbon.

It's so much fun to see how different the same stamp set looks when using different colors of ink, card stock and ribbon.

Now available: Sweet Pie Stamps!
I just love these stamps. I placed my order this morning! I can't wait to stamp with them. The little girl's faces are just darling!

Spiral Flower Card

Another purple card for Percilla but this time I used the Spiral Flower Die with the Silver Foil Sheet and a Tea Lace Paper Doily.

Lovely Lilac is retired now but I've saved some to make my friend, Percilla, some cards from her favorite color.

This is a 5" x 5" card. I cut a piece of our Silver Foil Sheet and ran it through the Big Shot using a new embossing folder from the Sale-A-Bration Catalog called Decorative Dots. I went on to use Stampin' Up! sanding block over the silver foil. Placing Rhinestone Basic Jewels on the doily and then on the sentiment ties the silver in the card together. I used the Large Oval punch for the leaves using Garden Green card stock. I cut the ovals to look more like leaves and added veins using the bone folder.

Sale-A-Bration will run to March 31st. Don't let these free products pass you by. For each $50 you purchase in regular products you can choose one of the 13 Sale-A-Brations products.

Purple for Percilla

Over the week end I found some retired Lovely Lilac card stock. My high school friend, Percilla loves purple so I try to make her cards with purple every chance I get. I used the idea for the layout for the cards from Stampin' Success Magazine. I changed the colors and embellishments. I used the Happy Water Color stamp set on page 22 of the Occasions Catalog.

I really like the way the three cards turned out. I think Percilla will enjoy them too.

Until next time...
