Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving!
It's a sunny 52 degrees here in Kalamazoo, Michigan. I hope all of you are having a nice Thanksgiving with loved ones or friends.  Today I have three Thanksgiving cards for you.

For the top and last card I used the Full of Blessings set from the Holiday Catalog. The Middle card I used the Days of Gratitude stamp set for the Big Catalog.

We are having two Thanksgiving dinners this year. Today our daughter Pam and granddaughter Sarah are coming to share our evening meal with us. Turkey, cranberries, sweet potatoes and pumpkin pie. Friday we are traveling to Holt, Michigan to have Thanksgiving with our son, Dan; Maria, Rebekah and Christian. Mary; Brian, Hannah and Olivia, Pam and Sarah.
I have so much to be thankful for. A wonderful family and many great friends.
Wishing all of my stamper friends a relaxing Thanksgiving!

************************************************

I had a fun work shop at my home on Saturday night. All but one participant was new to stamping. We had a blast making cards and I made five new friends that night. Andrew and Brook are 11 years old and they blew my mind on how artistic they are. After we finished our cards Andrew and Brook made some Christmas tags using their imagination and newly learned stamping talent. I was so impressed.
Care #1

Everyone loved seeing how the embossing changes from a dull color to a beautiful shinny one. The Dazzling Diamonds Glitter was a big hit too.

Card #2
I wanted a little sparkle so we used Rhinestone Jewels to set off the card. I had questions on how I made the different shapes so I pulled out my Big Shot. I remember how amazed I was the first time I saw how easy and fast cutting out unique shapes was using the Big Shot. It's so much fun showing how the Framelite just pops out of the card stock.
The evening took me back to my first days stamping and how excited I was to be able to make a card myself. Up until my first Stampin' Up! work shop I attended stamping was a mystery to me. It still is so much fun to see a finished card or project and know that I did it. My attendees went home feeling the same way.

Dollar Store Glass Vase All Dressed Up

I'm so excited to share with you my idea for dressing up a dollar store glass vase with our beautiful 3 1/2" Cherry Clobber and Crumb Cake Scalloped Tulle Ribbon.
About a month ago, I was at the dollar store and saw some really nice glass vases...not wanting to pass up a bargain, I bought some. This vase is 8" tall and 3" around. So...I brought out the Scalloped Tulle Ribbon and wrapped it around the vase with Cherry Cobbler and then made a bow out of Crumb Cake Scalloped Tulle Ribbon. To set the entire vase off I added a Vanilla Citron candle from PartyLite. The smell is so yummy!

What I love about this project is it will go so well with my color scheme for Christmas. The tulle is held on the vase with a little bit of SNAIL Adhesive  and the bow is tied. After Christmas I can change the colors if I want a different look.

What you will need to make this project

3 1/2" Cherry Clobber and Crumb Cake Scalloped Tulle Ribbon
SNAIL Adhesive

Non-Stampin' Up! items
Glass vase
Candle
Hope you like my idea...to purchase any of the Stampin' Up! products go to the top right side  bar and click on Shopping.

Simple and Quick Party Favor Baskets

Today I have  simple and Quick party favors. I'm not sure where the original idea came from, I just know they have been around for a long time. These Party Favor Baskets can be made into different sizes from 4" x 4" to 12" x 12" depending on  the look you want. The look of the basket can be changed by using different designer series paper, adding ribbon or other embellishments.
I started with a 12" X  12"sheet of Be of Good Cheer designer series paper and cut it to 6" X  6".  Score 2 inches on all four sides, crease with bone folder. Cut the outside sections just to the inside crease. Bring the two pieces together with the large piece on the inside. The two smaller pieces will cross over each other. These will be secured with a brad after the handle has been cut.
For this project I chose the Tasteful Trim die. The die has four choices. For the smallest favor I chose the rick rack. For the larger favor I chose the next larger trim. The trim is 12" long, for this project I just cut the trim to fit the size of the basket.

Next, I ran the Red Glimmer Paper through the Big Shot using the Snow Flurry Bigz Die. I attached the snowflake and handle at the same time using the Brights Old Olive Glimmer Brads.

 Products Used for this project

Be of  Good Cheer designer series paper
Snow Flurry Bigz Die
Tasteful Trim Bigz Die
Big Shot Die Cutting Machine
Red Glimmer Paper
Brights Glimmer Brads
1/16" Circle Handheld Punch

No stamping on this but it would be cute to use this basket as a party favor and attach at label with your guests name for a dinner party.
